Enjoy NASCAR while RVing!

One activity many RVers like to do while on the road is to take their families to the largest motor sports event in the United States, the National Association for staock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). The three major racing series sanctioned by NASCAR are the NEXTEL Cup, the Busch Series and last but not least, the Craftsman Truck Series. From infield parking to special camping areas nearby the racetrack, the NASCAR promoters make RVers feel very comfortable.

NASCAR fans that travel in RV's can enjoy the races with all the facilities their home has to offer. There are several campgrounds where they can park in the speedways across the country. There is a good number of campgrounds open a few days early allowing RVers to spend the full week camped out near the track. For example, more than 25,000 fans can be found at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) on a racing week. Today, NASCAR has grown so much that it is the second most popular professional spectator sport in terms of television ratings inside the US.

Many RVers travel the entire NASCAR circuit during the racing season. Some important racetracks include the Martinsville Speedway, the Talladega Superspeedway, Bristol Motor Speedway and Dover International Speedway, which are oval. There are also many tri-ovals racetracks like Kansas Speedway and Michigan International Speedway. Other configurations of racetracks are quad-oval, oval with unequal ends and triangular. So, if you like NASCAR and RVing, you will find that both activities can go hand by hand!
