Red Rock Canyon State Park

Red Rock Canyon State Park features scenic desert cliffs, buttes, and spectacular rock formations. The park is located where the southernmost tip of the Sierra Nevada converge with the El Paso Range. The area was once home to the Kawaiisu Indians. Some petroglyphs in the El Paso mountains are from these people. Each tributary canyon is unique, with vivid colors. After wet winters, the park's floral displays are stunning. Wildlife includes roadrunners, hawks, lizards, mice and squirrels. The colorful rock formations in the park served as landmarks during the early 1870s for 20-mule team freight wagons that stopped for water. The park has been the site for a number of movies. The park protects significant paleontology sites and remains of 1890s-era mining operations.

Sam's Family Spa

Sam's Family Spa Hot Water Resort was built in 1971 on over 50 acres of selected desert property with underground hot mineral water springs. Our therapeutic pools are partially enclosed and are naturally heated by hot mineral water pumped from three underground wells which are constantly flowing through the pools. Our wells are approximately 105 to 140 degrees and between 265 and 300 feet deep. Soak for a while and then kick back and feel the heat of our dry sauna. Now "this" is family relaxation at it's finest! Travel trailers, tents, motor-homes, campers and fifth wheels all are welcome here. We even have motel rooms for those who prefer not to camp. Sam's Family Spa was created and designed as a family park, so that both children and adults could enjoy the facilities. You can stay for a day, a week, a month, or a lifetime...
