 John Tanner State Park

This west Georgia park is best known for having the largest sand swimming beach of any Georgia state park. It is a recreational haven for water lovers looking for boating and fishing opportunities as well. Visitors can enjoy camping, picnicking, miniature golf, volleyball and horseshoes. A small lodge located near the beach features six units, each with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living area and bedroom. The park is named after a local businessman who operated the property as a private park from 1954 until 1971.

Poteete Creek Campground

This fifty-nine (59) site campground is located 13 miles north of Blairsville, Georgia on beautiful Lake Nottely. The campground is open April 1 thru October 15th. There are camper sites, (small and large campers) and tent sites and fire rings available at each campsite. Power and water are available at most sites, but no phone lines. Also available is a dump station, boat ramp, picnic tables, beach area, pavilion, fishing, restrooms, a bathhouse and showers. Reservations are recommended.

Trackrock Campground and Cabins

Trackrock Campground and Cabins is a 300 acre paradise of meadows, hayfields, and woodlands in the shadow of Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest point. Completely isolated from all other commercial developments, the property is bordered on three sides by National Forest. Great care is taken to preserve the natural environment. Wildlife, flowers, and flowering shrubs are abundant throughout the campground and surrounding area.

Vogel State Park

One of Georgia's oldest and most popular state parks, Vogel is located at the base of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest. Driving from the south, visitors pass through Neel Gap, a beautiful mountain pass near Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. Vogel is particularly popular during the fall when the Blue Ridge Mountains transform into a rolling blanket of red, yellow and gold leaves. Cottages, campsites and primitive backpacking sites provide a range of overnight accomodations.
