Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing is located on the road to Chimney Rock (Highway 92 & County Road 75) three miles south of Bayard, NE. Camp under the lights of Chimney Rock on the same ground pioneers slept on over 150 years ago as they made their way west along the Oregon Trail. Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing offers pull through campsites, teepee rentals, and tent camping for our guests that want a more rustic experience. Clean restrooms and soft water showers are available. We are located just minutes from swimming, golfing, and fine dining. We are constantly expanding our facilities and services to further enhance your stay here in western Nebraska.

Kimball KOA

The High Plains around this campground in western Nebraska’s Panhandle give no hint that they once hid the world’s most formidable arsenal. A sleek, 99-foot-tall white Titan 1 at Gotte Park is a reminder that once there were so many intercontinental weapons buried under the prairie that Kimball dubbed itself “Missile City.” It’s a half-hour drive to the massive Cabela’s outdoor gear and sporting goods store in Sidney. North of Kimball, elk and buffalo roam the pine-shaded Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area, great for hiking. Back at the Kimball KOA, swim and play sand volleyball, basketball and horseshoes. If you plan to attend Cheyenne Frontier Days in late July, this quiet campground less than an hour’s drive east makes a great retreat from the crowds and the noise.
