State Parks and Campgrounds---State Tourist Travel Information

An experience beyond your imagination awaits you in the state of Alaska. It is the largest state by area in the United States and larger in area than all but 18 of the world's nations. For this reason, you will enjoy a lot of different and varied attractions that the state offers.
Alaska is legendary for its winters, however most visitors prefer to come in summer, when the days are long and the temperatures are moderate. Between May and early September is considered the best time to visit.

Juneau is the Capital of Alaska and Anchorage is its biggest city, the state contains a broad mixture of cultures. In Anchorage, for example, the school district has found that its student body comes from homes that speak 83 languages.

In winter, thousands of visitors arrive at the North looking for the best view to see the psychedelic lights of the sky and their colors. The lights are flipping and waving through the sky in shades of green, purple, and red. It’s just a spectacle you will love too much!

Alaska Highway is the principal route out of the state through Canada. It was built in 1942 to give the military a direct, safe land route to bases in Alaska. The highway, once a muddy route famous for its difficulties, is now a two-plane paved road famous for its scenery and reliability. Also, you can travel by ferry with your RV and enjoy the landscape. You will connect with many cities and villages where you will find highways that connect directly with the Alaska Highway.
