State Parks and Campgrounds---State Tourist Travel Information

Located in the northwestern United States, the state of Idaho has a rugged landscape with some of the largest unspoiled natural areas in the country. The capital and largest city is Boise. The state borders Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Montana, Wyoming and the Canadian province of British Columbia.

This state is a Rocky Mountains state with exciting scenery and enormous natural resources. The major rivers are the Snake River, the Clearwater River and the Salmon River. If you plan a trip in your RV to Idaho, you must take advantage of its snow-capped mountain ranges, swirling white rapids, peaceful lakes and steep canyons. Also, visit the Hells Canyon which is deeper than the Grand Canyon.

Idaho has seven tourism areas you will love to see. For example, the Northern has Sapphire lakes, wide forest and amazing flora and fauna abound near the areas of Coeur d’Alene, Sandpoint and the Silver Valley towns of Kellogg and Wallace. In the Southwestern, there are forested mountains peaks that envelop McCall and Cascade, while high deserts, sun drenched valleys and leisurely rivers surround Boise. In the Eastern area, enjoy the Rocky Mountain vistas and the plenty outdoor activities this section has for you with its several national parks. In each region, you are going to enjoy the great landscapes and deep nature this state offers.

Some “must see” recommendable national parks are the California National Historic Trail, the City of Rocks National Preserve, the Craters of the Moon National Movement, the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail and the Yellowstone National Park.
