Missouri is a Midwestern state of the United States with some Northern, Eastern and Southern cultural influences. The Mississippi and Missouri rivers are the two large rivers which flow through this state. The state’s nickname is the Show-Me State. There is an expression “being from Missouri” which relates to the state’s unofficial motto “show me”. People from Missouri have a reputation for being skeptical. The capital of the state is Jefferson City and the largest city is Kansas City.

This state has many different possibilities for visitors. You can visit some of its important cities and towns such as Saint Genevieve, the oldest permanent European settlement west of the Mississippi River, Hannibal, where Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) lived, Independence, hometown of President Harry S. Truman or Saint Charles, where it was the beginning of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and the first state capital.
