North Carolina is one of the thirteen colonies that revolted against British rule in the American Revolution. The state is named in honor of King Charles I of England, from the Latin “Carolus”. The state’s capital is Raleigh and the largest city is Charlotte.

North Carolina has three mains regions which are Mountains, Piedmont and Coast. One of its major geographic features includes the Appalachian mountain chain that runs through the western part of the state. The Great Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Mountains make this area one of the country’s top scenic attractions. Driving your RV here can be a wonderful experience in any season, from a brilliant and colorful display in autumn to a cool and refreshing summer.

Piedmont offers to visitors the North Carolina's largest cities, biggest financial institutions, tobacco farms, top golf courses, historic sites and entertainment. The Coast is a sunny place filled with pristine beaches and the powerful splendor of the ocean, huge sand dunes, and wetlands full with an abundance of flora and fauna. The most important attraction in this area is the Outer Banks, a chain of fragile barrier islands with 130 miles of unspoiled coastline surrounded by 900 square miles of water.

Visit the beautiful Fayetteville, where the famous baseball player Babe Ruth hit his first home run on March 7, 1914. Also, visit Cape Hatteras lighthouse, the tallest brick lighthouse in the United States, it was built in 1870 and it’s 208 feet tall.
