Ohio is a Midwestern state in the northeast of the United States. The state name is an Iroquois word meaning “great water”. This state was the first and eastern-most state in the Midwest admitted to the Union under the Northwest Ordinance, an act of the Continental Congress of the United States passed on July 13, 1787. This piece of legislation was also known as the Freedom Ordinance.

Columbus is the capital of Ohio and the largest city too.
