State Parks and Campgrounds---State Tourist Travel Information

Located in the Rocky Mountains region, Utah is a western state of the United States. Its capital is Salt Lake City. This state is famous because it’s home of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, of which approximately 60% of the residents are members. This church has tremendous influence in several state issues.

Most of Utah is arid and high in elevation; this geographic destiny gives the state spectacular natural scenery. The eastern and southern regions of the state have little precipitation, except in their mountains. The Great Salt Lake Desert is especially dry. Snowfall is common in winter everywhere apart from the southern border and the Great Salt Lake Desert. Spring is the wettest season across the north while late summer and early fall are the wettest times in the south.

The state's most popular seasons are summer and winter. Lots of visitors arrive to the ski areas in the Wasatch Range and also to the national parks of the south. In 2002, Salt Lake City hosted the Winter Olympics, which gave a significant boost to the state’s tourist industry.

Enjoy Utah’s amazing landscapes and recreational opportunities traveling in your RV here. Visit the Bryce Canyon Area with its brilliant red sandstone, the Capitol Reef with its beauty and solitude, the Zion Area with its breathtaking vistas, canyons and glistening pools, and much more.
