State Parks and Campgrounds---State Tourist Travel Information

The last of the lower 48 states to join the union, the romantic state of Arizona became official on Valentine’s Day, 1912. Arizona has something to offer everyone who enjoys nature and the outdoors, history, good food, and socializing. During the fall and spring, temperatures range from mid-60’s to the 90’s depending on the region. This is a wonderful range for people who like to get out and hike or just sunbathe. Summers can reach 110 degrees, but it’s a comfortable dry heat. No humidity whatsoever!

Winters can be cold in the north and east, and these mountainous regions receive around 200 inches of snow, great for skiers. Other parts of the state remain comfortable, however, and the “snow birds” who flock down for the winter months enjoy some of the best golf courses in the world. An entire seasonal community has sprung up, a group of open, friendly people who come together in Arizona to have fun and stay warm in the winter. From majestic desert canyons to eerie petrified forests to the unique natural beauty of the open desert, Arizona is one of the most popular RV destinations in the country.
